Busy Bob:

He might be the Power of Attorney you need to work with, but he is constantly busy with a demanding job, long hours and is always hard to reach. Maybe he lives out of state (or even the country), and when you need to speak with him, he is hardly ever available for you.

Difficult Dolores:

She has a high level of care need, but won’t – or is unable to – recognize her challenges. She will likely tell you she wants to stay in her home, perhaps even with some dementia – and that she can take care of herself. Complicated Charlie:

Often the most difficult, a Complicated Charlie may have a very low budget for an expensive or high level of care need. Often these patients may be struggling with dementia related to Alzheimer’s or other health complications. Pair that with a POA or family members that can’t agree on care needs, placement, location or financial responsibility, and you have an incredibly stressful situation.
