Owl Be There began with a simple promise: to make life’s hardest care decisions a little easier and to always be there when families need trusted guidance most.
When a loved one needs help, families are often asked to make important decisions quickly without clear information, time, or support. Owl Be There exists to change that experience.
We listen first. We guide with care. And we walk beside families every step of the way.
Our Story: How It All Began
Owl Be There was founded in 2013 by David and Laura Greenwood, a husband-and-wife team whose personal and professional journeys both led them to senior care advising.
Like so many families, they helped their own parents navigate emotional, complex transitions. They saw firsthand how overwhelming the process could be. Families weren’t just looking for options. They were looking for clarity, reassurance, and someone they could trust.
What they found instead were fragmented systems, rushed referrals, and lists that didn’t reflect real life.
David and Laura believed families deserved something better.
They envisioned independent senior care guidance in the form of advisors who would take the time to understand each family’s situation, explain choices clearly, and remain by their side from the first conversation through the final decision.
What began as a small, local advisory service grew into something much bigger: a national network of compassionate, independent senior care advisors dedicated to helping families move forward with confidence and peace of mind.
From Local Advisors to a National Network
As Owl Be There grew, so did the need. Families across the country were facing the same challenges, and asking the same questions.
In 2020, David and Laura expanded Owl Be There into a senior living advisory franchise, making it possible for mission-driven professionals to bring the same trusted guidance to their own communities.
Today, every Owl Be There advisor:
- Lives in the local community they serve
- Brings local knowledge paired with national training and support
- Operates independently, with integrity and compassion
Each advisor is committed to unbiased guidance and long-term relationships, not transactions. Because care decisions are personal, and your advisor should be, too.

David Greenwood, MBA
— Chief Executive Officer
David began his career as a financial planner, earning his MBA and building a foundation in long-term planning and client advocacy. As families increasingly asked for help beyond finances, David became deeply involved in senior placement advising.
Over the years, he has guided thousands of families through complex transitions, blending practical insight with genuine compassion. Owl Be There’s advisory model was built around his belief that families deserve education, ethics, and empathy — not pressure.
Laura Greenwood, MBA, CFE

Laura brings deep expertise in brand leadership and franchise development. With an MBA and a background in strategic growth, she led Owl Be There’s expansion from a single local service to a nationally recognized advisory franchise.
Her focus is on training, support, and sustainability, ensuring every Owl Be There advisor is equipped to serve families well while building a meaningful, purpose-driven business in their community.
